Diesel Motor Mechanic

Our client is a leading Australian construction and contract mining company with major projects throughout Australia, in New Zealand, South East Asia and Africa. Our Client plays a major role in the delivery of many of Australia's largest multi-disciplinary construction and mining projects. The company's diverse and comprehensive capabilities incorporate a full range of transport, marine, water and resource infrastructure services, delivered for government and private sector clients.
Due to continuous growth the company is seeking 20 x Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics with:
1) Caterpillar large equipment (e.g. 789, 793, 992, 994), and/or
2) Komatsu, Liebherr or large equipment (e.g. 773D-777D, 740 Moxy, 631 Scraper) and/or
3) Hitachi EX1200 Excavator, Cat Excavators 390, 385, 365, 345, 336, 330, Cat Loaders 972-980, 966, 950, or similar.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the successful applicants will be required to carry out all mechanical repairs & maintenance on Caterpillar, Komatsu or Liebherr large equipment products both in the Workshop and on Field Service.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1) Caterpillar large equipment (e.g. 789, 793, 992, 994), and/or
2) Komatsu, Liebherr or large equipment (e.g. 773D-777D, 740 Moxy, 631 Scraper) and/or
3) Hitachi EX1200 Excavator, Cat Excavators 390, 385, 365, 345, 336, 330, Cat Loaders 972-980, 966, 950, or similar.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the successful applicants will be required to carry out all mechanical repairs & maintenance on Caterpillar, Komatsu or Liebherr large equipment products both in the Workshop and on Field Service.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs to fleet of large mobile plant
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a range of machinery to minimise down time and meet programmed maintenance schedules
- Carry out component change outs, full test and adjust all systems on all components (not limited)
- Diagnose and fault finding and troubleshooting on Heavy Equipment
- Minor welding tasks
- Complete service reports and identify parts requirements
- Working in small teams to achieve deadlines
- Perform Risk Assessments for every task, maintaining and focusing on safe work practices and a safe work environment
- Demonstrated capacity to interpret hydraulic and electric schematics and learn new systems, methods and technologies.
- Able to work competently unsupervised
- Applicant must be qualified Plant or Heavy Duty Mechanics – Mechanical Trade Qualification
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with Caterpillar large equipment (e.g. 789, 793, 992, 994), Komatsu, Liebherr or large equipment (e.g. 785/789, 793, 992/994 loaders) Liebherr (992, 994, 996, 9250, 9400) or similar
- Valid current Driver’s License – MUST HAVE Heavy Duty Vehicles
- Able to read and understand Hydraulic and Electrical Schematics
- Extensive Caterpillar, or Komatsu or Liebherr and associated product knowledge
- Able to work competently unsupervised
- Dedicated commitment to Safety & Quality Assurance
- Submit Plant Mechanic or Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics CV’s of highest level candidates
- ISA will shortlist and present the candidates to the client
- Attend formal skills test on a date to be advised
- ISA is looking for quality candidates only who MUST have experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr or large equipment as listed above or similar
- To qualify for a 457 via in Australia candidates must sit the IELTS examination and achieve a score of at least 5 in each band. Please make sure your candidates will be able to pass an IELTS exam or be able to present evidence indicating that the candidate has completed at least 5 consecutive years of full-time uninterrupted study in a secondary and/or higher education institution where the instruction was delivered in English.
