Civmec's capabilities include heavy engineering, modularisation, SMP and electrical installation, site civil works, precast concrete, industrial installation, offshore logistics, refractory, surface treatment and fireproofing, and maintenance services. Key accountabilities include:
  • Performing safety inductions, Inspections, Audits and competency assessments
  • Preparing and assisting with the presentation of informative and topical WHS Toolbox Talks.
  • Continued development of Safe Operating Procedures, SWMS, Job Safety Analyses and Risk Assessments
  • Maintain records for the ongoing certification of CIVMEC system against relevant ISO/AS standards
  • Promoting the successful implementation of HSE system and associated procedures.
  • Performing incident investigations and preparing reports, recommending specific accident prevention control measures
  • Provide leadership and coaching to line leaders with regards to application of health and safety systems and processes.
  • Driving continuous improvement on site with regards to health and safety.
You will:
  • Self-motivated and results driven individual
  • The ability to operate independently, without direct supervision
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring HSE systems, policies and procedures
  • Exceptional organisation skills with methodical approach
  • Understanding of injury management and return to work programs
  • Well-developed communication / interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated background of working in a fast paced team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to engage and connect with CIVMEC's team of skilled labourers and operators.
Selection Criteria
  • Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety or similar, or relevant industry experience in OH&S
  • Trainer and Assessor Cert IV
  • Sound knowledge of WHS Legislation, Codes of Practice and AS
  • Mining or heavy industry experience desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Successfully undertaken the ISO/AS certification process
  • A thorough working knowledge of the MS Office suite
  • Experience with ICAM methodology looked upon favorably
  • Some experience providing support to HR department
  • Return to Work Coordinator experience – desirable
