Main duties:

Managing all aspects of Prestress Projects including but not limited to;
  • Setting Junior/ Site Engineers workload and assigning daily tasks, mentoring Junior/ Site Engineers in all of their duties - working alongside them to ensure that optimum time management is achieved and all tasks are covered
  • Liaising with Supervisor/ Construction Manager to ensure that all works are completed as per project requirements and that design intent is achieved
  • Liaising with QA/QC personal to ensure that all quality requirements are met
  • Liaising with Draftsman and Administration regarding relevant aspects of Project
  • Liaising with client, subcontractors and suppliers regarding material approvals, technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries
  • Liaise with QS regarding completion of material take-off
  • Completing all project deliverables for new projects as they come on scope, reviewing contract requirements and drawings for potential technical queries
  • Planning and scheduling of Project scope of works
  • Procurement of materials as per project specification and in line with project schedule
  • Ensuring all Engineering certifications are obtained
  • Ensuring that all works are completed in line with the project specifications
  • Maintaining project baseline -monitoring changes to scope of work and realigning production dates and procurement accordingly
  • Reviewing project documents and drawings, submitting technical queries and RFI to client
  • Monitoring document approvals and revisions
  • Reviewing reinforcement schedules, lift designs and shop drawings
  • Completing Prestress calculations
  • Set up and maintaining of quality processes
  • Compose weekly progress reports
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
  • Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed 
Skills and experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, civil engineering or construction management (essential)
  • Prestressing Experience 1-2 years (essential)
  • Project Engineer – minimum of 2 years’ experience (essential)
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role (preferred)
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite is essential in particular Excel
  • Proven time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to multi-task
