Our current opportunity
Civmec is currently seeking applications for an experienced Civil Supervisor to join our team on a mining construction project in Western Australia. The position will be full time for the duration of the project, FIFO from Perth on a 3:1 roster.
Key accountabilities include:
- Implementing the construction plan & monitoring progress in respect of time, costs & quality
- Guide supervision and direct employees to ensure their compliance with the HSE / Quality Plan
- Overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors' work
- Execute the construction portion of project plans through detailed planning and day-to-day direction of field activities
- Promoting a working environment that is safe & healthy & protects the environment
- Reviewing contractors’ plans & schedules
- Monitoring construction work for compliance with engineering drawings, design specifications, owner’s standards & statutory regulations
- Maintaining & fostering relationships & contacts, & liaison with the owner’s team in respect of technical issues, specifications & variations
- Monitoring & reporting on contractors’ performance
- Developing teams & individual competence
- Formulate safe methods of work in consultation with the HSE Advisor and workforce personnel
- Tertiary/Trade qualification in relevant discipline
- Strong, hands on supervision experience of systems formwork
- Previous & recent supervisory experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, lead and manage subcontractors
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, written and verbal communication skills
