Our current opportunity
In light of our continued growth, Civmec is currently seeking applications for an experienced HSE Advisor to join our team based in Tomago. You will support operational teams in the delivery of work activities safely and to ensure compliance to Civmec's HSE Management system and support the development of industry best practice health, safety & environmental initiatives.
Key accountabilities include:
  • Implement and ensure compliance of Civmec's HSE Management system
  • Investigate and record workplace incidents and maintain all databases and registers
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement regarding all health, safety and environmental work practices
  • Identify training needs for all personnel
  • Provide information for toolbox meetings and assist management in the communication of all HSE related topics
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with HSE standards
  • Performing safety inductions, Inspections, Audits and competency assessments
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify any issues and/or opportunities for improvement
  • Perform other general duties as required.
You will:
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or similar
  • A combination of leadership, relationship management, system experience and HSE technical strengths
  • Demonstrated minimum of 5 years' experience in a HSE position with experience in the infrastructure sector is essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with internal stakeholders
