The opportunity
Civmec is currently seeking a Material Officer to join one of our flagship projects located in regional Western Australia, FIFO from Perth on a 3:1 roster. Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, this position will be focusing on material requirements for the project., including storage, logistics and purchasing.

As a Material Officer, you will
  • Receiving material on site and storing appropriately, and deliver received materials
  • Matching of material and packing slips to purchase order(s)
  • Arranging shipping/couriers
  • Protecting inventory from damage, corrosion and deterioration
  • Maintaining and monitoring inventory levels (rotation of shafts, re-warehousing, re-stocking shelves
  • Inventory control, issuing inventory and consumable items
  • Ensuring purchase orders are properly authorized and taking action to process urgent orders
  • Negotiating prices, terms and conditions with vendors and suppliers to obtain maximum value and service for goods and services purchased
  • Assist in other site operations for which you are qualified as required
  • Escorting suppliers, deliveries and service providers on and off site
About You
  • Tafe/Tertiary Qualification in Logistics Management, Material Control or similar
  • Previous experience in Logistics/Material control on a remote construction site
  • Forklift and truck licence will be favourable
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
