The opportunity
Civmec is currently seeking a Material Officer to join one of our flagship projects located in regional Western Australia, FIFO from Perth on a 3:1 roster. Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, this position will be focusing on material requirements for the project., including storage, logistics and purchasing.

The opportunity
Civmec is currently seeking a Material Officer to join one of our flagship projects located in regional Western Australia, FIFO from Perth on a 3:1 roster. Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, this position will be focusing on material requirements for the project., including storage, logistics and purchasing.
As a Material Officer, you will
- Receiving material on site and storing appropriately, and deliver received materials
- Matching of material and packing slips to purchase order(s)
- Arranging shipping/couriers
- Protecting inventory from damage, corrosion and deterioration
- Maintaining and monitoring inventory levels (rotation of shafts, re-warehousing, re-stocking shelves
- Inventory control, issuing inventory and consumable items
- Ensuring purchase orders are properly authorized and taking action to process urgent orders
- Negotiating prices, terms and conditions with vendors and suppliers to obtain maximum value and service for goods and services purchased
- Assist in other site operations for which you are qualified as required
- Escorting suppliers, deliveries and service providers on and off site
- Tafe/Tertiary Qualification in Logistics Management, Material Control or similar
- Previous experience in Logistics/Material control on a remote construction site
- Forklift and truck licence will be favourable
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
