Cape is an international market leader in the provision of essential industrial services to the energy and natural resources sectors. We specialise in providing services such as access, insulation, fire protection, coating, cleaning, training, painting, blasting and other essential services throughout the life cycle of major industrial assets.

In response to steady growth, Cape has an exciting new role within the Region for a General Manager Industrial Services (NZ) – Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the outstanding applicant will have the responsibility of establishing the Cape business in New Zealand. 

Main Activities:
  • Ensure that all employees working in the Cape Industrial Services division are provided with safe working environment.
  • Identify a pipeline of projects in order to build a successful business.
  • Determine and communicate clearly defined goals and planning priorities.
  • Engage resources in line with forecasting & budgeting.
  • Lead the preparations of tenders for projects in consultation with Cape Business Development and Commercial functions.
  • Ensure that the day to day project management is progressing to plan and meets agreed customer deadlines.
  • Establish and manage P&L in line with business expectations.
  • Lead Business Development activities and establish / maintain client relationships.
  • Provide monthly reports and Management information.
Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this position, you must possess industrial services experience along with:
  • Operational experience at a senior management level
  • Substantial experience and skill in all aspects of the industrial insulation, coatings and scaffolding industry
  • Project management skills
  • Experience in business development, planning and strategy formulation
  • Experience and understanding of the New Zealand market.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Business or Finance. 
  • Extensive networks applicable to Cape services.
  • Exceptional communication skills
