Our current opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Project Engineer that is proactive, hands on and enjoys a challenge, to join a major project team in the construction of a process facility in far north Queensland.
The successful applicant will be Queensland based, and available to work on a FIFO roster of 20:8.
About you:

• Proven experience from a Tier 1 or 2 major construction contractor is essential
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering is essential, with RPEQ registration highly regarded
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar senior engineering role is preferred
• Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools
• Possess exceptional negotiating and influencing skills
• Excellent written and oral communication

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Liaising with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries
• Understand and implement quality control techniques
• Assist with logistic and sub contractor management
• Monitor and review design changes to assess the effect on project budget and schedule
• Assist in the preparation of progress claims and variations
• Attend regular progress meetings with both internal and external project stakeholders
• Preparation of work schedules and material requisitionns
